I was pleasantly surprised when I received this iron. I bought it after looking at plastic ones and deciding to go with something prettier and less likely to break. For the price I was expecting a fairly small toy made of so so wood with a surface that might need some sanding. I was wrong! It’s just the right size for my four and five year olds, about 2/3 the length of a real iron. The wood is a beautiful hardwood and is sanded to a very smooth finish (I think it may have a beeswax finish on it as well as some other camden rose toys do). The wood is smooth enough that it glides over fabric just like a real iron would. The handle is very securely attached as well. It’s really a wonderful toy for the price, I would have paid double what I did for it. I’m now planning on adding the wooden ironing board from the same company to use with it.

A great little iron for small hands. Won’t break. My grandchildren ages 3 and 1 love to iron with this toy.
