The therapist for my two adopted autistic grandsons (ages 2 & 3)recommended this ball for their play time. We celebrated early Christmas with their family (they live in the northern mountains) & afterwards, I spent lots of time with them & they just loved playing ball with each of their Bumpie Balls…over & over again. It was obviously good therapy for them as they were happy & laughing mightily over such play & since the Bumpie’s are so soft, it made no difference where their wild little throws landed. It was a good purchase to add to other Christmas gifts & one they will play with often, I’m sure, with no chance of anyone being hurt or items in a room being knocked over or damaged.

We love Gertie balls and this is a fun one. Kids like balls but some are difficult to catch and hard when full of air for young players. Our three kids, boys 4 & 7 and girl 9, love the feel and softness of this ball. Develops hand eye coordination without fear of getting hit in the face with a hard ball. Very fun and deflates to take on a trip in your bag! Works in the pool too.

These balls are favorites in our swim classes. They are soft enough for small kids to grip and throw and are usually chosen first over standard playground balls. Infants in parent and baby classes like to chew on the knobs, but the material is durable and we haven’t had one pop, yet. I only gave it 4 stars for durability because you have to inflate it with a straw and insert a plastic plug. I like the inflating part, but the plug can get pulled out by an ambitious kid, and, unless you have a spare (and they so send you one in the box), you’re stuck with a deflated ball.
