Thomas And Friends Wooden Railway – Stanley Description

My son is crazy about Thomas (as most 2 yr old boys are) and we have been rapidly building his train collection. If you have or plan to get the movie “The Great Discovery” then Stanley is a must. I believe that is the only movie in which Stanley is featured- but he is a MAIN character (most of the plot is focused around Stanley). If you don’t have that movie, then there really probably isn’t a need to spend the money on this character. Since my son loves to watch that movie every chance he gets, he is naturally a huge fan of Stanley and plays with him every day. He is well made/ durable- will withstand much rough play! (In our experience all of the Thomas wooden trains have been).
If you are new to the Thomas line of toys and movies/shows, I’ll give you a little more info… I happen to run into many people in stores that are just starting out with Thomas and with so many choices they have no idea where to start.

I sent Stanley to space, he held up really well. If there was a 6th star for durability I would click it. He came down from the stratosphere at 60 mph (with a parachute, and yes I called the FAA) and landed in a corn field. I also sent him up over Roswell NM with a Larry the Cable Guy bobble head, and he survived an over 100,000 foot fall. He literally smiled the whole time, nothing gets this guy down.
Regarding how fun he is, he can pretty much go anywhere with your child. Mine sleeps with his, plays with him all day, runs him on any surface at any restaurant.

Stanley wasn’t introduced until “The Great Discovery” movie, and he has not been in a lot of episodes, but he is none-the-less a great engine. My 2 year old son picked him out based merely on appearances. He is a great looking engine, with a pearl white with red accents paint job. He has a unique shape on the back, adding to his appeal.
The only problem we’re having at my house is that Stanley has been M.I.A. for about a month, and it is a sore subject with my boy. I might need to replace him if I don’t find where he has been hiding soon.
