The Mystery at Walt Disney World (Real Kids, Real Places) What was supposed to be a vacation for four real kids at Walt Disney World turns into a wild ride as first one kid disappears, then another, and theres only one left to solve the mystery!
Customer Review: Kids love it, adults tolerate it!
My two kids, ages 7 and 9 loved this book to read on the way home from WDW. I read it, and agree that the never turning to the authorities was bothersome, however… I used it as an opportunity to talk with my children about what they would do in REAL life. When I was reading it myself, after they had read it, I would comment and ask “why wouldn’t they call their grandparents?” “why wouldn’t they ask for help”, etc…. and my kids’ replies were “because then there wouldn’t be a mystery!” and “all kids books are that way, if the adults helped, it wouldn’t be a story!” And I have to admit, this was the type of book I would’ve loved as a child! As long as they know that this is fiction and the children made unwise choices. The author actually includes that as a discussion question at the end of the book – do you think they did the right thing?
Customer Review: Don’t take it so seriously
I think some of the other reviewers may have taken this book too seriously. If you’re children believe every last thing that is written in books, then I guess they believe that children can fly on brooms and that there is a magical spring that if you drink it, you will never die.
This book is a FICTION book intended to teach kids about history in a fun and entertaining way.
I think the parents are more scared of the book then the kids. I know plenty of kids that have read this book and have had no problems sleeping at night or visiting Disney World.
