Ty Beanie Babies Goody Holiday Teddy Bear Jingle Beanie Baby
I bought my female, teddy-bear hamster on Saturday afternoon. She was in the car for about 2 or so hours. (my hamster was in a comfortable, big carry cage not a small cardboard box.)I put her in her cage at home and left her alone for 24hrs. Then the next night (once the 24hrs were up– Sunday night) I took her out. She was jumpy but other than that, she was perfectly fine and docile when being handled. Then last night (Monday night) her butt is all wet and it looks like she has no fur there but I think its because it’s all wet. Is it because of stress? I plan to leave her a lone for the next few days. Any ideas what it is? If so, ways to treat it? (She is less than 5 weeks old and also, today my room was really warm because I put a heater in it. Could it be that she was just sweating?) Is it UTI? She does NOT have Wet-Tail. Wet tail kills a hamster within 48 hrs and practically no medicine can help this. I said in my question that her butt is wet with out poop. Wet-tail consists of poop all around her butt area. She is simply wet there. There is no poop or anything. I have noticed that she does have a small odor right now but it’s barely noticeable. She is still alive right now (Tuesday morning). I’ve looked further and it seems that her tail and urinary area is the only parts wet but especially her tail. I can see her whole tail because her fur is wet. I have noticed that she has been drinking a lot. I’m not ruling out Wet-Tail but the symptoms for Wet-tail aren’t anywhere near as described except for her tail. Maybe it’s just because of stress or moving to a new cage. When it says that dehydration is part of the symptoms of wet-tail it means that she isn’t drinking hence the dehydration. -_- I’ve owned hamsters for 4-5 yrs so I know a lot about them but I’ve never seen anything like this… it’s probably caused by stress (yes,I know wet-tail is also caused by stress). I’ve considered diabetes as well. I’ve considered UTI (but her pee doesn’t have blood), Wet-Tail (she isn’t showing ANY signs of it exp the wet tail), and Diabetes.

I’ve owned hamsters for 4 years I know what Wet Tail as well as what to do when I just buy a hamster. She does NOT have Wet-Tail. And you should leave your hamster a lone for a day (or 2 depending how scared your hamster is).
