Customer Review: Great Vehicle..
I saw this in passing at Toys ‘R’ Us and I had to buy it. I don’t remember seeing it in the SW movies, so it probably didn’t play any kind of prominent role… but the design of this space ship is just incredible. I’m a big fan of the A-Wing design and this comes very close. Whoever designed this for Lucasarts deserves a medal.
It’s incredibly durable, made from a thick plastic. The wings and fins are easy to remove so they don’t break with rough play. The paint job is nice with all the blaster scars and silver ‘chips’ in the paint. The wings spring out as advertised (but need to remain closed when on display with the landing gear down — the addition of a stand would have been nice). The canopy is made of an especially nice clear plastic that nearly looks like darkened glass.
I picked it up for around $25 and it was more than worth it. As I hold it now I can’t help but be impressed by its quality. The positionable fins and spring-loaded rockets round off this toy and make it a must-buy for any collector (if you can find it) and will make a fun toy for any kid.
I thought of giving this toy only 4 stars overall because it lacks the addition of a pilot action figure (which wasn’t released along with the ship, making it REALLY hard to find — so my ship sits empty on my desk) and does not come with a display stand. But to give this 4 stars based on something that’s not included wouldn’t really be fair — this toy stands alone as a quality toy.
