Customer Review: Fun Toy! Won’t Pass For A Movie Prop Even At A Distance!
For $15, I wasn’t expecting much and I saw it in a store before I purchased. It was pretty obvious this was a kid’s toy. It’s really just a fancy version of the classic carnival/circus toy with the retractable glowing blade. This one is spring-loaded which makes it more fun and makes sounds that sound somewhat, but not quite, light-saber-ish.
I would caution supervision for children. Although there are warnings on the toy about not aiming it at someone when you open it or poke people with it….what kid WON’T?? It’s a toy sword!
There are cheaper toy versions that are not spring-loaded which might be a bit safer for kids.
Customer Review: Great toy, ours is still in one piece
This light saber is a toy, not an adult model, and I can’t believe any child wouldn’t love it. My son loves all the sound effects it features. It has distinctly different noises and recognizes the movements your child is making. One noise for opening or closing the lightsaber, 1 noise for being slashed through the air, and a 3rd noise when your child strikes something. Yes, this toy IS made to be battled with and it makes a cool “clashing lightsaber” sound when you strike something (hopefully another lightsaber and not Grandma’s knees) with enough force. My son is 7 and a Star Wars FREAK!!! (gets that from his dad) and he loves this toy. I’m sorry that the other reviewer has 1 that seems to break, but ours has proven to be durable, exciting and a new favorite toy. PS My son owns about 10 lightsabers of varying quality and functionality. This one is by far the best and well worth the $20 we paid for it at a major discount retailer.
