Customer Review: Not a good choice…
My house has about 20 Melissa & Doug puzzles, and we’ve been pleased with every one of them, until this purchase. The puzzle consists of 5 pieces that are put together to form the circle. The pieces are all exactly the same, so it is very easy for a child to do. Then, they match the animal shape with a piece, then fit the two pieces at the center. It’s nice that it is pretty self-correcting and a child would have success doing this by him/herself. If you are looking for any kind of challenge or learning opportunity, this puzzle is not it. My daughter just turned two, and had the puzzle mastered in about 2 days (to the point that she doesn’t want to play with it). Hope this info helps you with your purchase. : )

Our 2 year old grand daughter found this to be a wonderful puzzle. It’s size makes the pieces manageable for little hands and the animals she loves in the zoo are delightfully represented. Is is big enough for ease but small enough to work on while she kneels on the floor. Thick pieces and nice rounded designs means it will be around for a while.
