Melissa and Doug Zoo Sound Puzzle This Zoo Sounds Peg Puzzle is a twist on the classic puzzle. Sounds are played when the puzzle pieces are properly placed on the board. It’s a fun and unique way to reinforce cause-and-effect, early vocabulary and matching skills. Measures 9″ x 12″. Requires 2 “AAA” batteries (not included).
Customer Review: Teacher finds fault
Awful Awful Awful! I am a teacher and was uphauled by the poor educational value this puzzle has. Let me go through the points:
1. the sound quality is terrible, and the sounds don’t even sound like animals. We got the zoo animals, transportation and farm animals. When I wasn’t looking I couldn’t even match one of the animals sound to the animal name. I can’t imagine that it would be that challenging to make a duck sound like a duck.
2. The sensors don’t always work and when they do it’s at an inapropriate time. I’ll be in the other room making dinner and all of a sudden the pig (or was it a pig?) will begin squaking
3. The puzzle pieces don’t quite fit correctly, so this can be frustrating for the child
So, overall I wouldn’t waste your money. It’s not your typical nice Melissa and Doug quality. Sad, very sad.
Customer Review: Nice puzzle…
Overall, nice puzzle. My 21 month-old is just learning, so it’s challenging for her. Although it’s light sensitive, ours makes noise randomly even with all the pieces in…kinda creepy sometimes!
