It wasn’t until my kids put this puzzle together for the first time that I noticed that the map it features is out-of-date. I didn’t look at it all that carefully before I placed my order on Amazon, but I never guessed I’d have to wonder about the accuracy of such basic information on an item sold in 2011. If you want to reminisce about how the world was in, say, 1985, this puzzle will be perfect for your trip down memory lane. If you’re trying to teach your kids world geography with up-to-date information, buy a different puzzle.
When I bought a current world map from our local variety store, I had jokingly complained to the owner about current world geography, “why can’t we go back to Yugoslavia? It was so much easier to remember!” He told me to get with the times. That is my advice to Learning Journey. Getting an outdated puzzle (obviously manufactured quite recently) with a matching, outdated world map is not a value.

My 4 year old loves this puzzle. He is learning country names and locations. When he overhears a country being mentioned, he says, “That’s on my puzzle.” I’m learning as well! The carrying case makes it easy to clean up and put away. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

I bought this as a birthday present for a 5 year old. It’s so neat that I would buy it for my own daughter when she gets older! I like the fact that it is a puzzle that will also teach a kid something and that’s why I bought it! Figured it was different and unique… not the usual puzzle that a kid gets.
