Customer Review: Poorly designed toy
My 3 1/2 yr old son LOVES Thomas and Friends. He was thrilled when he received Thumper because the Boulder video is one of his favorites. Unfortunately, I agree with the other review, the tread constantly comes off Thumper. As soon as my son pushes Thumper the tread slips off and I have to put it back on. This is extremely frustrating for anybody much less, a toddler. He went from being thrilled to chilled. He occasionally comes back to Thumper and tries to play with him, but of course, the tread slips off and he is disappointed. This is definitely not a well designed toy when it comes to the treads and their fit. The rest of Thumper is just as cute and durable as all of the other wooden Thomas trains. Skip buying this one if you can, otherwise your child and you are in for frustration and disappointment.
Customer Review: Pain in the neck!
My 3-year-old son has a ton of the Thomas vehicles and loves them, but Thumper is poorly designed. The treads fall off the wheels right away, and you will be spending your time replacing them every 5 minutes! I’m not sure why the previous reviewer gave this item 5 stars while complaining about the treads coming off. This is my major complaint with Thumper.

My son recieved this from santa and LOVES it. He thinks it’s so cool how you turn the crank and the drawbridge door opens up. It really makes his imagination work.
Customer Review: The best of the newer, more plastic Thomas pieces.
In case you haven’t noticed, after years of the Thomas destinations, bridges, and tunnels being nearly entirely made of wood, a lot of the pieces to appear over the last 2 years have a ton of plastic on them. They are made of a very durable feel plastic, but the overall look still appears cheaper than the wooden stuff, but the price still isn’t cheap!

Customer Review: Helps adjust track layout , but …
The flexi-curve track adapter is wonderful at filling in “holes” and places that are not exactly straight or not within the parameters of a long curve or short curve piece of track. It is a must for those of us (ahem, I mean those kids) who build the “non-standard” track layouts. It’s always fun (again, for the kids) to build a different layout each time and try and use every piece of track. These adapters are indespensible for this purpose.

Customer Review: Horrible choice for small children
Unless you are super strapped for cash, if you have a small child ( mine are almost 3 & 5) I would advise you to avoid this bridge. This simple structure is the ‘worst’ of any of the Thomas & Friends bridges that we have run across. It is extremely unstable and difficult to set up. Unlike the other bridges (which have pins, are solid, or have flip-out supports) this structure depends on friction and two wooden blocks that have to be placed ‘just right’. We ended up spending more money almost right away rather than to have the wails of frustration.

I agree this piece is ideal for certain track layouts, but the fact that the trains don’t stay in the grooves (either the battery powered trains or the long trains pushed manually by my 2-year old) causes my son great frustration.

Customer Review: A useful piece of track
It’s true that the trains do not run as smoothly on the wacky track, but we always end up with at least one of them in our layout. I bought a pack of 2 and found them so useful that I bought a second pack! They are indispensible in helping us to create imaginative layouts, and my 3 year old son does not mind that he has to take a little extra time rolling over this one stretch of track, more important to him are the fun new layouts we make every few months.
Customer Review: Helps the ends meet
Others have said these tracks are fun, or that the cars fall off them easily. The way my son runs his trains, they always fall off – no matter what. Accidents happen is his favorite Thomas song.
