I was reading a Yahoo article about “gifted children” and it said a long attention span was one sign of a “gifted child” It didn’t say in what specific activities a long attention span counts as a “sign” haha I’m just curious what kind of attention span is average for a 2 yr old. My daughter just turned 2. She’s always had a pretty long attention span. When she was tiny she could happily sit on my lap for an hour or more listening to me have a conversation with someone. She enjoyed watching facial cues and hand gestures as well. Now that she’s older, she has a long attention span for movies, shows, etc. She’ll watch Nick Jr ALL day if I let her. She interacts with the characters. She LOVES the interactive puzzles (where they switch the cards and the kids have to remember which card had what. She always knows!) and yells out the colors of each object on the cards. Her dad and I are theatre nerds. We take her to our rehearsals and she will sit in her chair just fascinated with the blocking and stuff that we do. She reads herself to sleep (not literally, but if she knows the story then she’ll say the words to herself. Otherwise she just looks through the pages and talks about the color or the animal on it) Is that pretty average for a two year old? I don’t know any others. Haha! You read it too?
