Customer Review: Frosty doesn’t Need Water. Take THAT Wicked Witch of the West!!
Oh people. What a day and age we live in. When I was a very young Metamorpho, I remember making Frosty out of snow (well, of course), using a carrot for a nose, some coal for eyes, mouth and buttons. A wool hat instead of a top hat since no one had seen one since Lincoln was President. And a finishing touch of broken branches for arms and hands. It worked well, or so I thought, until greedy corporate America got involved. Yes. They made Frosty politically correct. And, even though he looks lovable, he bears no resemblance to reality. (Well, I don’t either so, I guess that’s not totally bad). Regardless, it has prompted me to write, yet, another fine book. It is called: “Greed: The True Story Behind the Selling Out of Frosty”. Look for it next holiday season.

The Joys of Collecting Antique Toys

You may have your favorite childhood toy. Like your favorite toy train that you kept near your bed. These items nowadays can bring back the old memories of your childhood and the happy moments when you were still a kid playing your favorite toy.

These days, you will find antique toy collectors converting his entire basement, room, garage or a part of the living room into a miniature train set with complete resemblance of trees, bridges, and streams.

However, this hobby could be expensive because of the set up you will need. Fortunately, an expensive train set can offer lucrative profits in return. Because of its antiqueness and the memory it evokes, it can be sold at a more expensive price for toy train collectors.

In fact, a pre-World War 2 Mickey Mouse collection set was auctioned for the amount of $1500.00. Usually, a person may purchase a toy because he wants his children to play with toys. Another reason could be collecting and preserving a particular time manufactured only for a limited time.

Enthusiasm is one key element when you are collecting antique toys. You may come to a point where you are more than willing to pay any amount for the last piece needed to complete your toy collection.

Others also opt to purchase a particular antique toy that has defined its formative years of existence. For example, the first ever Batman comic book has an auctioned price of approximately $10,000.00. Factors that you have to look at when you prefer collecting antique toys is the condition and years of existence of the toy you will purchase.

A particular antique toy that is still in good condition will certainly become scarce and may have a high asking price in some point in time. Toys that are still sealed in their original boxes are the most expensive. These are called toys which are in their mint condition.

Toys that were already opened and used could be less valuable because they may have lost their quality. Storing toys in a dust free environment is highly recommended.

But if you prefer to handle, clean and display them outside their storage area. Make sure that you use cotton gloves in transferring your toys. This is to prevent any dirt or oil from your hands to tarnish or damage the surface portion of the toys.

Toys that are widely popular and well recognized are safer purchases compared to the items that are only recognized for a limited time. The shortages and fads that made the toys appealing and popular for short periods may not have the same appeal and attraction when you talk about long term.

Those popular Tickle Me Elmo Dolls that were really in demand were selling with an added thousand dollars of its original selling price right before Christmas. The best way to invest on toys, such as in cases like this, is to purchase directly to the manufacturer of these toys.

If you are really into antique toy collecting, you may search web sites for informative guides on the current auction prices of the more widely popular antique toys. The internet is also a great place for sellers and buyers in this kind of market.

Star Wars Lego #4489 Mini Building Set AT-AT

4128FYXZH8L Star Wars Lego #4489 Mini Building Set AT AT Star Wars Lego #4489 Mini Building Set AT-AT Lego Star Wars AT-AT Mini Building Set – 4489
Customer Review: Target That Generator
Star Wars mini vehicles allow users to create vast scenes from the movies without spending thousands of dollars. Each new model has at least one special piece so that you won’t be able to duplicate it exactly by using other pieces in your collection.

The AT-AT is a really cool looking model. You can create a whole herd of the for the price of just one of the larger version.

The companion Snow Speeder is ok but is way off scale.

The directions are standard Lego format and are easy to follow. The final construction is solid. Parts of this model can be combined with other mini vehicles to create a Y-Wing (don’t worry, those pieces come from the Snow Speeder).

All in all, very nicely done.
Customer Review: “Target, maximum firepower!”
A friend threw this, as well as a mini Millenium Falcon Lego set at me as an early Christmas gift. After I gave `em a quick glance, I turned to him and asked, “What d’ya think I am, a freakin’ ten-year-old?”

He replied, “Perhaps not in the physical sense, but it’s glaringly obvious you’re not even up to that age maturity-wise.”

“You know, you’ve got a point there”, I grudgingly admitted.

So I went home, opened the sets up, and spent a good twenty minutes assembling both of them. Out of the pair my friend gave me, I’m definitely diggin’ the mini AT-AT more. Not only does it bear a reasonably close resemblance to the real deal, it also sports some really goofy legs. Each limb is articulated in three places (at the “hip”, and double-jointed upper & lower “knees”), and will stay in place when posed in a certain manner thanks to little ratchet thingies that mesh together when the leg pieces are clicked in place. Thanks to these joints, I can pose this little contraption of gray plastic bricks into the kinds of walking/running stances that would make the director of the Ministry of Silly Walks (anyone get this` reference? Um… hello…?) green with envy! I’ve even managed to get it to stand on its hind legs and “beg” like the family dog at the dinner table, or do the sleepwalk / zombie stance! Its neck also sports a ratchet-jointed connection point near the “shoulders”. Sadly, the head can only move down and up, not side to side.

I’m also struck by how… *glurk*… CUTE… the thing looks. This mini walker looks more like some kinda mechanical puppy dog to me than a dreaded juggernaut of destruction and conquest. Speaking of puppies: if you own the large Lego AT-AT, you could buy a couple of these smaller ones, assemble them, place `em around the large one, and voila– an AT-AT mommy and her young! Can’t wait for Steve Irwin to do a special on THAT wildlife, heh…

Ooops, gotta cut this short– the orderly’s telling me it’s time for me to take my “happy pills”. But before I go, I highly recommend this particular mini Lego kit for any Star Wars fanboy who’s too lazy to build and detail a proper model, and/or is strapped for space in the basement dwelling he’s fashioned under his parents’ house. So until next time…

…`Late

LEGEND OF ZELDA TWILIGHT PRINCESS ACTION FIGURE WOLFLINK

51tjYlfT0mL LEGEND OF ZELDA TWILIGHT PRINCESS ACTION FIGURE WOLFLINK LEGEND OF ZELDA TWILIGHT PRINCESS ACTION FIGURE WOLFLINK Customer Review: satisfied with purchase
This figurine is rather small, however we gave it to our son (who loves link) for Christmas – He enjoyed it and will be part of his rooms decor.
Customer Review: Great for Zelda Lovers!
If you love Zelda as much as I do, then you will most likely enjoy this little figure. It comes in a small plastic ball, similar to a poke’ball. Inside you will find the pieces to your figure. You will, of course, need to assemble it upon opening your package. For such a small plastic, the detail is surprisingly good, and the resemblance is spot on. I am a huge fan of Twilight Princess, the game of which these characters are from, so I love having this little character on top of my computer.
Wonderful gift for any collector or nerd, such as myself!

John McCain Action Figure

512GBFPUscL John McCain Action Figure John McCain Action Figure JOHN MCCAIN ACTION FIGURESupport your candidate John McCain and own a cool historic toy! This figure does not talk.
Customer Review: It doesn’t do anything special.
I purchased the Barack Obama doll for my 4 year old as a Christmas gift. This John McCain doll was included for free as part of a promotion. It doesn’t really bear much resemblance to the guy. I’m sure he will just end up married to one of my little girls Barbie dolls. icon surprised John McCain Action Figure )
Customer Review: Durable, and fun for awhile – but looks nothing like him.
This doll doesn’t look much like John McCain, and the fact that his arms can swing 360 degrees further solidifies this action figure as a poor replica. That being said, it proved to great bring joy and fun to my and my friends when we video taped ourselves microwaving this John McCain doll facing off against Barack Obama in my hit internet show, “Is It A Good Idea To Microwave This?” – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MA4mwnlhh4 – the McCain doll holds up surprisingly well. Eventually, someone bought the “remains” form me for over $45 (another $45 for the Obama too) – and coupled with the money made through YouTube advertisements… this stupid doll turned out to be a good investment for me.

Transformers Animated Deluxe Action Figure – Autobot Bumblebee

51kzS14jNRL Transformers Animated Deluxe Action Figure Autobot Bumblebee Transformers Animated Deluxe Action Figure – Autobot Bumblebee Transformers Animated Bumblebee features flip-out stingers and snap-on rocket thrusters. Bumblebee s kid-faced Animated aesthetic somewhat bears a resemblance to his Gen 1 incarnation; his helmet retains the characteristic small budding horns. At a glance, Animated Bumblebee appears to be articulated at the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Preferring action to words, Bumblebee enjoys his thruster-powered striped sportster mode. Bumblebee s boisterous exuberance overwhelms the majority of his action, leaving no interim for fear of the menacing Decepticons. In robot mode, Bumblebee is assisted by his flip-out stingers.
Customer Review: Piece of junk
I would have given this toy 0 stars, but it wouldn’t let me. I bought this transformer for my 4 yr. old son. The minute this came out of the box, pieces were everywhere. It is cheaply made, and the pieces don’t stay together. Plus, when you can get the pieces to stay together, you can’t “transform” it back to anything that it is suppose to be (robot, or car). My husband or myself could not figure out how to get it back to car form, let alone our son. Even when we did get it half way back to the car version, it took a good hour or so. These are nothing like the original transformers, and I don’t ever remember original Transformers coming with instructions and being so difficult to “transform”! Poor, poor version. Don’t buy unless you have allot of time on your hands, and like to hear “Momma can you help me?” over and over!
Customer Review: Totally Cute!
In my opinion it’s the best “TF: Animated” Bee figure out there so far. I don’t have too many complaints, though it does have some minor issues. He’s fairly poseable, it could be better, but I’ve seen TF toys with MUCH less.
