Customer Review: Not junk, actually pretty sturdy and excellent value
Much better than the cheaper plastic ones, while head and foot boards are made of laminated pressed wood, are solid and heavy. I think what often happens is during shipping, the fancy metal “hinge” for lack of a better word, that connects head and foot boards to the side boards get bent inwards (from boxes being stacked, etc.). Had to use pliers to pry them out a little bit. Other than that, and one slat beam hole misdrilled, fit perfectly. Very sturdy and not rickety at all as other reviewer noted. Was impressed at number of slats included (8) and everything is screwed (not nailed) for durability.
