LEGO Batman – The Batcave: The Penguin and Mr. Freeze’s Invasion
LEGO Batman – The Batcave: The Penguin and Mr. Freeze’s Invasion Holy penguin popsicle, Batman! Two of Batman s most cold-hearted enemies, The Penguin and Mr. Freeze, have joined forces to stop the Dark Knight s crime-fighting ways once and for all. What they seem to have forgotten (again and again) is that Batman is nothing if not well equipped. His secret base features a high-tech two-level control center with spiral staircase and storage locker for weapons, costume change chamber, dungeon, rocket and net launcher that actually fires, and, of course, the Batmobile and Batboat (as well as a dock and repair bay). The Penguin has a submarine, and Mr. Freeze is always prepared with his chilling weapons and special refrigeration suit. But really, do the aristocrat of crime and the cryogenically modified villain even have a chance against the good guy? Assembled correctly (no mean feat!), this fantastically elaborate Lego set, with its 1,075 pieces, will provide hours, days, weeks of enjoyment for Batman fans. The many working gadgets add an element of excitement to the kit, and will certainly lead to lots of creative re-enactments of one of the world s most beloved superhero s adventures. –Emilie Coulter
Customer Review: Challenging construction, limited toy
My son saved for months to get this ever since he spotted it in his Lego magazine. As another reviewer indicated, it would be nice if they put all the pieces for a particular unit in a bag and labeled it as such. One ship/car/building/person spread out over 5 bags can get a little monotonous in a 1000+ piece set. Regardless, he joys in getting a new toy everyday (I’m pacing myself to a vehicle a day). Obviously components are not glued tight and with play will fall apart. Lego’s can typically be better for ‘looking at’ rather than ‘playing with’. My six and seven year olds’ occasionally have problems connecting the pieces as well. I don’t know if it is a hand/eye thing or strength issue, but it allows good father/son time to devote to a complex project.
Customer Review: Holy Cow Batman!
Other then getting a headache building the set with my son, its over 1000 pieces, I have no complaints. It has become the central focus of his super hero obsession and his bedroom. None of the components are difficult to build, and although the spiral staircase is cool its is a bit poorly designed because it often “collapses” with rough play. In addition while the rotating car pad is pretty neat, expect that one single lego in the middle to get broken the second a younger child trys to spin the platform by hand. But onto the good things; the detail is excellent from the computer screens to the joker bomb in the glass case. Mr. Freeze is just about the coolest lego man I have seen, you get a classic gray Batman, Robin, The Penguin, a penquin sub, a snowmobile for Robin, a larger snowmocar for Batman and a penguin sub. My only grip is there is nothing for Mr. Freeze to ride/drive but if your child is anything like mine that will be remedied in short order.

The box was a little crushed when it arrived but I am not sure if it is damaged or not yet. It got here very fast.
Thanks
Customer Review: Fantastic set for my 4-year old
I seriously considered this purchase for my son, who loves Batman but has the patience of a 4-year old. The age range on it says 5+, so I worried that it was too advanced. I was pleasantly surpised to find that he was able to do the majority of the construction, simply by looking at the printed booklet and following step-by-step. Not sure how educational that is, but I enjoyed watching him confidently fit the pieces together. It was fun putting helping him put it together when he couldn’t understand the pictures. He really likes the set and he hasn’t let either Batman or Mr. Freeze out of sight for the past few days.
It’s a fun set, Mr. Freeze’s gun is really cool, he has two blue jewels, and the cars don’t fall apart too easily. Of course, neither car can survive being chucked against the wall, and I have had to rebuild them a few times. I’d recommend this set-It’s fun and the stories my son comes up with are hilarious!

Customer Review: my son’s toy’s review
Great fun! There is always things to do whith the set. Almost everthing is active like the garages move up and down and door slides side to side etc
I, Stefan, really love this toy!
Customer Review: Excellent choice!
This was our 4 1/2 year old son’s Santa present this year, and he has been playing with it ever since he put it together. The instructions are quite clear for the vehicles and the buildings. My son was able to follow the directions and put everything together, with some help from my husband and me. Actually, I was really amazed at how motivated he was to put it together himself. It took a few days to get the whole station and both vehicles put together, but he kept at it. Now he is enjoying getting a chance to play with the set and it has provided many hours of imaginative play time. I really feel that this set is well worth the money.
