LeapFrog Leapster Educational Game: Reading with Phonics

318SbdJ2ObL LeapFrog Leapster Educational Game: Reading with Phonics LeapFrog Leapster Educational Game: Reading with Phonics Reading with Phonics combines an engaging animated story with six phonics activities that teach essential reading concepts. Learn vowel and consonant sounds and discover the rule of the “silent E.” Teaches consonants, short vowels, long vowels and word recognition. For use with the Leapster Multimedia Learning System, sold separately.
Customer Review: Reading with phonics (Leapster)
I bought what I thought was an interactive BOOK as it was described. I received a small cartridge looking thing but NO BOOK. As I live in Europe and have done so for the last ten years and only recently adopted a 4 year old boy, I had no idea that what I was buying would require another piece of machinary or equipment. As I had it shipped to my brother’s house in the states and then only received it a couple of months later when my mom came for a visit, it was too late to return it. So it is completely unusable and was a waste of my money. I feel that the information provided on the internet should clearly indicate that in order to read this virtual “book” one requires a another piece of equipment.
Customer Review: a great hit with my son
I have a very advanced pre-k reader, and so I got this game as a challange to his 3 letter words that his class is on. He LOVES THIS GAME, addicted to it. It taught him pretty complicated phonic rules (ones that I didn’t quite know how to teach him) like the silent ‘E’ @ the end, or the 2 vowels together, or even the simple identifing of vowels. THis game taught it to him in a way that he never even questioned about it. By the end of pre-k, while the other kids are still on 2 & 3 letter words, he has learned the tools to read anything, I mean even the longest of words. He even won the medal for best reader of his class. I reccommend this game even for kindergarden or even 1st grade. He’s reading at a 2nd grade level. I didn’t play the game myself (unlike the other games – I usually do) but he LOVES it and it really worked.

Educational Toys are No Longer The Wooden Blocks That I Remember

The closest thing that I recall as an educational toy of my own was a set of wooden blocks and a matching hammer!

Today, there are quality, educational toys that define motor skills, expand maths development, as well as enhancing creativity.

You can start your baby off on the right foot with great educational baby toys. These are now safe, educational, environmentally aware toys and accessories, including musical instruments, science and nature items and much more.

Parents know that if the educational toys or baby toys are not appealing they will likely just sit on a shelf, so they are created to grab the imagination of the child immediately. These toys provide an educational experience while still generating fun and excitement for your baby.

Finding high quality educational toys that stimulate development and are fun to play with is vitally important. Parents these days are keen to inspire the natural latent wonder and genius that is hopefully evident in their children. LeapFrog is committed to developing the highest quality educational toys.

The year’s top educational toys use arcade-style games, music, drawing and even characters from favorite children’s TV shows to integrate learning and fun. The Leapster Multimedia Learning System from Leap Frog is an excellent example, and among the finalists for toy of the year. Out of all the electronic learning systems available in the market today, this one ranks pretty high up in the list. Its easy to use, very educational, with touch screen and backlit display enhancing its value.

Children can play, read, draw, and watch interactive videos. Learning games are available in your child’s favorite cartoon character including Dora and Spongebob. Electronic storybooks can be read, and the Draw feature encourages budding young artists to exercise their creativity.

So its no longer a case of buying the biggest most colorful toy. Instead, look for those with a high-educational value that stimulate creativity and learning, and most importantly make learning fun!
