This Barbie was purchased for my daughter’s 13th birthday because she collects the Holiday Barbies and she was born in 1995. The doll won’t be taken out of the box, so there isn’t really much of a fun factor in that. Although she was very happy to have gotten it.

I remember the disaster of Holiday Celebration Barbie 2001 and I bet you do too, people just couldn’t get used to the sight of Barbie as an Austrian ice queen with fair, nearly colorless hair spread out from her face like the feeble rays of a setting sun. And the outfit they put her in was both garish and overstylized, like Bob Mackie without the charm. Fans speculated that Mattel was going for an otherworldly, elf queen look, like Cate Blanchett as Galadriel in The Fellowship of the Ring, but on Barbie it just looked strange, though very pagan: one wondered what unearthly “holiday” such a Barbie could be celebrating—something from the cult of Cthulhu perhaps?

Hello, My daughter has been collecting the Holiday Barbies since about 1993 or so. I usually wait until close to Christmas, as money is tight, to buy it. This year I looked in the K-Mart, Wal-Mart, KB Toys, etc. and nobody has one. All I wanted was ONE! Now, I went online to see if I could buy one here, and can’t do it either. Last year Ames had a bunch left over at Christmas. Nobody has had any for weeks and weeks and weeks. This is not fair to those of us who have to wait for money. Why did this happen this year??? Customer Review: Nice Addition to a Gordon Fan’s Collection
I am not a Jeff Gordon fan, but this is an exceptional addition to a fan’s collection. I bought this for the daughter of a Jeff Gordon fan. Unfortunately they opted to maintain it as a collector’s item rather than allow her to play with it. It’s up to par with Barbie’s expected value and a humorous addition to a NASCAR collection.

This was bought for display purposes only. My mom likes Barbies, my dad loves Jeff Gordon, so it seemed a reasonable yet hilarious gift for both. However, they could have her hair be loose instead of attached to box, because this type of Barbie is more likely for display rather than play. And the box was not sealed at all; it was just like a shoe box. No way to be able to tell if it was opened beforehand.
