Well, this is a collector toy so I wouldn’t say it has any educational value. I bought it for my girlfriend and she’s very happy with it. I’ve been buying Happy Holiday Barbies for her for quite some time now and I’d like to say this one has been the… cutest? She’s liked this one the most.

I remember the disaster of Holiday Celebration Barbie 2001 and I bet you do too, people just couldn’t get used to the sight of Barbie as an Austrian ice queen with fair, nearly colorless hair spread out from her face like the feeble rays of a setting sun. And the outfit they put her in was both garish and overstylized, like Bob Mackie without the charm. Fans speculated that Mattel was going for an otherworldly, elf queen look, like Cate Blanchett as Galadriel in The Fellowship of the Ring, but on Barbie it just looked strange, though very pagan: one wondered what unearthly “holiday” such a Barbie could be celebrating—something from the cult of Cthulhu perhaps?
