Transformers Universe Classics Voyager Class and gt; 2008 SDCC Comic-Con Nemesis Prime Action Figure

51cTi9IrByL Transformers Universe Classics Voyager Class and gt; 2008 SDCC Comic Con Nemesis Prime Action Figure Transformers Universe Classics Voyager Class and gt; 2008 SDCC Comic-Con Nemesis Prime Action Figure Exclusive launched at the 2008 San Diego Comic Con. Broken by a nightmare eternity of torture at the hands of Straxus, NEMESIS PRIME does not remember what he was before he was this. He is the culmination of a grand plan never realized by Straxus before his destruction; a lowly warrior reconstructed to be the very image of OPTIMUS PRIME. Imprinted with memory engrams and combat algorithms recovered from hundreds of sources, he possesses much of the knowledge of the AUTOBOT leader, but without any framework by which to organize it. Despite his incredible power, he is deeply unstable, a threat to DECEPTICON and AUTOBOT alike. He cowers in the shadows of CYBERTRON, living only to stalk and destroy his fellow TRANSFORMERS. Prepare to roll out and do battle as you take on the enemy in mighty robot mode or tractor trailer vehicle mode. Pose the detailed robot figure with his stellar converter cannon and futuristic disruptor cannon. A few twists here and a couple of turns there and hes ready to roll in tractor trailer vehicle mode. The weapons in robot mode become the trucks smokestack and wind vane! Black-and-silver colored deco makes him a bold addition to your collection.
Customer Review: This is what you get when Optimus Prime ends up with megatron’s brain.
Nemesis Prime (Scourge) is the ying yang of Optimus Prime. Nemesis (Scourge) is equal to Optimus in everything except, unlike Optimus, He’s all about bringing chaos and destruction to anyone who stands near him. He is one evil character.
Customer Review: Same mold, same mold
For anyone who missed out on the Classics Optimus Prime or Ultra Magnus, this is the exact same toy with a different color scheme. Mold is exactly the same as Classics Optimus Prime but more reasonably priced (as of 2008).
My biggest gripe with this figure is that Hasbro decided to give it blue windows instead of the appropriate crimson. His light piping is also blue but his eyes are painted red. This defeats the purpose of light piping and cements more in my mind that Hasbro should’ve just used a crimson plastic for the transluscent parts.
Otherwise this is a great figure, especially for collectors who missed out on the original Classics Optimus Prime release.

LEGO Night Crusher

51MVS2Vvi8L LEGO Night Crusher LEGO Night Crusher It’s a whole muscle truck show in one spectacular package! Drive to the scene with the massive team truck and transport trailer, then deploy everything you need to put on a major stunt racing event. Set up the flags, line up the ramps and get the giant-wheeled monster truck ready and go. Will you jump over the stunt car, or crash into it’ It’s all up to you. 265 pieces.
Customer Review: LEGO Night Crusher
My 8 year son loves LEGOs! He wanted this older product and we had no trouble finding it on Amazon. He has built it and taken it apart and rebuilt it many times. Great toy!
Customer Review: The Picture Doesn’t Do This 3-Vehicle Set Justice!
The primary picture above makes it look like just one truck. However, the Lego Night Crusher set actually has three vehicles: A monster truck (pictured), a car, and a two-part tractor trailer. OK, so really that’s four vehicles because the semi and its trailer each have a lot of complex moving pieces. All told, it’s a very interesting build that any kid familiar with Legos (my five-year-old put it together with minimal assistance) will really enjoy. And then the resulting vehicles are a lot of fun to play with as well.

Final Fantasy VIII

51Ou5f52KXL. SL160 Final Fantasy VIII Final Fantasy VIII SquareSoft has always had a sure-fire hit when releasing any of their Final Fantasy titles, and Final Fantasy VIII should be no exception. The basis of a good RPG (role-playing game) has always been the story; spectacular graphics are secondary. Final Fantasy VIII‘s involved and interesting story line is filled with great twists, well-developed characters, suspense, and romance. As an added bonus, the graphics are beautiful. Everything–from the low-lit jazz club to the steam-filled railroad tunnels–is gorgeous and perfectly sets the mood and tone of a scene.

The game mechanics are standard fare for an RPG: acquisition of items and spells, turn-based combat, experience points earned in combat allowing advances in levels. From exploration to battles to dialogue, Final Fantasy VIII has it all. However, Final Fantasy VIII falls to that great weakness of RPGs: random battles. While necessary for advancing in levels, the battles occur with such frequency that they can grow annoying, making for a tedious game experience.

The epic storyline spans four discs–over 40 hours of gameplay–and is based around a mercenary cadet who finds himself caught up with an underground rebel faction. He winds up in a plot to assassinate the sorceress who has just seized power from the president.

You could complain of limited replay value, but this gripe is of no consequence: the game is such a satisfying experience, it doesn’t require replay. Final Fantasy VIII is easily worth both the hype and the wait. You can’t buy a much better game. –John Cocking

Pros:

  • A story to beat all stories
  • Characters worth caring about
  • Hey–it’s from SquareSoft
  • Stunning animations

Cons:

  • Too many random battles
  • Combat is, as always, turn-based and offers minimal excitement
  • Weak souls might give up after two or three discs of play

USA Talking Puzzle

51200QVF66L. SL160 USA Talking PuzzleCustomer Review: It’s never to early!
It’s a great way to learn the states and the capitols! It gives you that spatial memory that can be so important. We use it and a few other items to make up our own map game. It could be improved. A quiz mode would be great! The names of the capitols printed clearly somewhere (even in the pull out slot on the side) would be nice because many kids learn by seeing. And what about the star spangled banner? It’s got the pledge of allegiance, and America the beautiful, which are fine and all but the Star spangled banner is arguably one of the best national anthems on the planet, why not include it?
