First of all, let me just say that my mom bought this at a consignment sale for only $[...]. Most of the pieces were still in the plastic bags as if it had never even been opened. I wanted to see what the selling price would be for a new one so I checked in with Amazon. These things are expensive, huh?

Customer Review: Kids love it, adults tolerate it!
My two kids, ages 7 and 9 loved this book to read on the way home from WDW. I read it, and agree that the never turning to the authorities was bothersome, however… I used it as an opportunity to talk with my children about what they would do in REAL life. When I was reading it myself, after they had read it, I would comment and ask “why wouldn’t they call their grandparents?” “why wouldn’t they ask for help”, etc…. and my kids’ replies were “because then there wouldn’t be a mystery!” and “all kids books are that way, if the adults helped, it wouldn’t be a story!” And I have to admit, this was the type of book I would’ve loved as a child! As long as they know that this is fiction and the children made unwise choices. The author actually includes that as a discussion question at the end of the book – do you think they did the right thing?

Every night found me nagging my kids for the same thing: “You guys, look at your room. Get your toys picked up right now!”

I didn’t understand it. They would have their room picked up, but a few hours later, it would be messy again. Toys all over the floor, blankets on the floor. Toys in the hallway; toys downstairs.

I love this album. It is safe for my baby to chew on and is a wonderful way to see pictures. I put photos of her grandparents in it and she loves looking at it. I have another one to put photos of my husband and I in for when we leave her with a sitter for the weekend.
