Shop Smart When Buying Children’s Toys
In this article we are going to take a look at the importance of choosing the right toys that will not only bring hours of fun, but will also help with child development as well. Toys are a kids best friend, have you ever known a kid that didn’t like toys? Children’s toys have been around as long as kids have and they range from the very basic ball or doll to today’s more complicated modern toys such as multi dimensional play cubes offering many activities all in one toy to building blocks, puzzles, painting easels and others. As we go forward, we will explore the differences in certain toys and look at the benefits they can bring to your children.
First and most important, the toys we pick for our children should be fun and safe. A lot of toys today are fun but maybe not so safe and that’s a problem. We also should be concerned with the practical use of the toys our kids play with. Educational toys or toys that bring out the creativity in a child are the most positive tools for a young child’s growth and development. Educational toys are fun too, they offer endless ways to play and develop good motor skills, thinking ability and imagination.
The age of the child usually determines what types of educational toys they will play with. Children up to three years plus, are learning everything for the first time, developing coordination, analytical thinking and creativity. This means that the toys they play with should have many brilliant colors to stimulate their senses along with hand-eye coordination activities, counting exercises and anything else that motivates the child to learn the basics of life. There are many different types of quality learning toys to choose from which are suitable for all children. When looking for toys to buy for your kids, always take into account your child’s special and unique likes and dislikes. Maybe they are an expiring artist and could use a terrific art easel or art activity desk. Perhaps you have a little genius in the family and they would be more suited to play with counting toys such as a children’s abacus or a busy play cube with mazes and number counting play. Most importantly, the toys your children play with should be fun as well as educational.
It is a proven fact that almost all children love music, from the old classic nursery rhymes to modern and classical music. Most adults can remember as a child taking some kind of music lessons, most likely, piano lessons. A great way for kids to get started in their musical adventures is to buy them, children size instruments such as toy drums, guitars, flutes and so on. A toy piano is something that any child would love to play and there is a very good company by the name of Schoenhut, they have been in the business of manufacturing toy pianos for over a hundred years. These pianos are much more than just a toy, they are real musical instruments. If your child is in the toddler stage, the “my first piano” is just right for their little fingers. For older children, there is a large selection of styles such as the classic baby grand, traditional spinet or even a daycare durable model to choose from. These high quality children’s pianos range in price from around fifty dollars all the way up to about eight hundred. Regardless what piano you decide is right for your child, you will have an air loom to pass down from generation to generation.
For those children that love to draw, and most kids do, consider looking into an investment in some art supplies made just for kids. Child size art easels come in many different styles, from the most basic design to more complete styles with different accessories for the serious artist. A great piece of art equipment is an art desk or art activity center. These are designed for children and offer a wide range of activities they can perform from sitting at the desk or table and sketching out their new master piece to painting, sculpting with clay or whatever else they can dream up. Whether you need school durability art easels and desks or just enough art equipment for a kids home studio, you will be able to find what you are looking for and your children will thank you.
We have really just scratched the surface of all the great learning toys that are out there for our children to play with and parents should take time to know their child’s interests when deciding what toys to buy. Remember, the best toys aren’t necessarily the new fad, but the simple classics that are not only fun to play with but are educational as well. Passion, Balance and Educational Toys
Everyday we read about new claims of certain foods preventing this disease or that. Recently we are reading about foods once thought to be healthy, such as margarine with trans fat to be a very harmful alternative to natural butter. Even strenuous exercise has been found to be less effective in prolonging life than good old walking. In the end, the only safe recommendation any doctor or nutritionist can provide is to eat a balanced diet and exercise in moderation.
As they say, what’s good for the body is good for the mind. While researchers study the learning process and theorize about how the mind works, the only point we can all agree on is that for the mind to reach its full potential, it must be exercised just like your body.
A golfer swings his club from the same side repeatly, strengthening a certain group of muscles on one side of his or her body. That golfer must do exercises to strengthen his core muscles and those on the opposite side to prevent injury and provide balance.
Even though his passion is golf, an elite golfer recognizes that developing this balance allows him to excell at his craft. And so it goes with the development of the mind’s of children. Young children all have a dream of what they want to “be” when they grow up. This is the “passion” that is so important in life, the fuel, the raison d’etre. It could be their career, it could be a sport, a hobby or their family. But keep in mind that just as we go through phases in our lives, we also develop new passions along the way.
Providing a balance in your children’s lives will allow them to develop their passion from a wide spectrum. Take a moment to quantify the time spent on reading, sports, arts, math and science to ensure that they’ll be driving straight into the future.

Customer Review: excellent for after-school enrichment
I learned about this book from Beestar online vocabulary program for kids. Vocabulary is the foundation for good reading and writing. Many smart kids don’t do well in reading because of limited vocabulary. Unlike some other skills, a good vocabulary cannot be achieved quickly. Young students need to learn and read extensively to snowball their words. This book is a great help. It gives thorough practice through the use of synonyms, antonyms, compound words, homophones, homographs, plurals, etc., to ensure that your child will learn the meanings of the words used in each section. Through a variety of exercises that vary within and between each section, a child will become familiar with not only the word’s meaning, but also the meaning of each type of word (i.e., synonym, homophone, etc). Little by little, this book built the word power for my child without stressing. Now his reading level is at the top of his class. His confidence is high. This book is an excellent tool for after-school enrichment.

Customer Review: Better than most black-and-white books
This book introduces a set of words then has three pages of exercises to reinforce the meaning of each word. It also introduces grammatical terms by placing the words into categories like synonyms, antonyms, compound words, root words, words from other languages, etc. This is a good one for use with a parent or teacher, too, because sometimes the definitions or synonyms/antonyms contain words my child has never heard before. The words aren’t outrageously obscure, but are good alternatives for the child to learn to expand his vocabulary.
Customer Review: 240 Vocabulary Words 3rd Grade Kids Need To Know
I homeschool my languge impaired child. This book has fit right in with his needs. It groups words into categories that make sense. The exercises used to reinforce the words are fun. It’s not as challenging as Wordly Wise, and like all vocabulary-developing workbooks I’ve found, it could be improved by incorporating more pictures/drawings. Nonetheless, it’s a great resource.
