Excalibur Electronic Deluxe Talking Chess

517gw63wrLL Excalibur Electronic Deluxe Talking Chess Excalibur Electronic Deluxe Talking Chess The new, easily readable chess figures and a large LCD screen would by themselves make this a major innovation in pocket chess companions, but it offers much more. You just easily move a piece with just a touch of the stylus. The worlds best traveling chess computer is enclosed in an elegant but heavy-duty case that both protects and accents.
Customer Review: Not so good
My husband loves chess, and wanted to find an electronic alternative to his Palm Pilot. We ordered this product only to find that it is VERY hard to read/ see the screen. You have to be in a certain type of light to see the chess pieces effectively. The LCD screen isn’t that big, and it doesn’t have the option of lighting up for night time play. There may have been a glitch in ours because a few times it starting playing on computer mode once we turned it on. I wouldn’t reccommend this product. Buyer beware.
Customer Review: good product, but…
The EXCALIBUR ELECTRONIC Deluxe Talking Chess is an ok product at a reasonable price. However it does not include a set of memories where one can save games, or positions. I bought it primary to study chess positions, games and openings. It brings 32 opening types which one can use to learn differet ways to start chess games for either White or Black. The device includes level of play suitable for the beginner chass player up to more advanced chess players. It has an evaluating function which grade your games althought it does not provide any ELO rating. In summary for the price I paid it was a useful purchase.

Customer Review: satisfied
I bought my husband, an avid chess player, Excaliber for Christmas. Overall it has been more than challenging for him on even the lowest settings. There are a few glitches off and on probably because of the sensitivity of the machine, and he has had to restart it more than once. It sometimes reads error although the space it is called on has not been in play or has no chess piece for awhile. My husband does not have good eyesight and we find the digital display quite small for older folks. There are several ways according to the enclosed pamphlet to reset, takeback moves, etc but once it says error it usually pretty much sticks to it until you restart the game. He still enjoys his Excaliber because of the challenge and regulation size, and he finds it easy to use

Customer Review: Great for all!
I bought this item for my nephew who plays Chess online. After we played a few times I decided to get one for myself. I’ve bought from a lot of Chess outlets before, but ChessCentral surpasses them all. They were so fast to get my order out. I read some reviews on here saying they were disappointed, but for this price, it is a great deal. Hope you enjoy it like we do.

not a easy toy to learn. chess pieces do not stay on board
Customer Review: Excellent but not durable
The entire family had a lot of fun playing with this game, but after 2 weeks of use few of the buttons stop working.I don’t recommend to pay $50 for a toy that is going to last for just 2 weeks.

Customer Review: Good for learning and training
I bought the tabletop checkers and chess computer King Master III. In my judgement it plays chess at about 1500 Elo, but its checkers program is stronger. It’s good training for the average checkers club player, I believe. In checkers, it makes only one theoretical move towards the centre, then it starts to think. One can always take back that move and make another, if one wants greater variety. One must allow it 15 seconds or more, I think. Strategically (in checkers) it has the usual tendency to conquer space on the flanks instead of the centre, so one can often get a positional advantage. But, of course, that doesn’t mean that the game is won. But it tries to develop the single corner piece.
