LEGO Bionicle: Pahrak The Bohrok, a race consisting of six insectlike species that use elemental powers, add to the mythological story of the Bionicles. The Pahrak are the Stone Bohrok, who can cause rocks–or mountains–to crumble. While they rarely get angry enough to attack, once they start, they are incredibly hard to stop. This 40-piece Bionicle kit uses a system of ball-and-socket joints, pegs, gears, and machinelike body parts for assembly. The illustrated instructions are easy to follow, and the black, brown, and tan pieces snap together without difficulty. A lever just behind the back of the head can be pressed to make the top dome lunge forward–a simple but incredibly cool effect. The completed Pahrak stands solidly on its own, offers a variety of offensive or defensive poses, and can be suspended in its container when not in battle. –Pam Lauer

The bohrok were a very interesting story. The only problem is, when the rubber band on the back breaks, it’s useless. It can’t lunge, and it’s no fun.

I haven’t owned a decent Lego set in years. But with the growing popularity of the Bionicle line, I decided to pick this one up (for some reason, I’ve always liked the green ones). Speaking of which, for reasons that are beyond me, this Visorak (along with the Suukorak) is priced slightly higher than the others, even when they’re on sale. Still, a bargin’s a bargin, right?

LEGO BIONICLE Visorak Vohtarak In recent Bionicle lore, the Visorak are spider-like creatures who have taken over the city of Metru Nui and encased it in a shroud of webs. When the Toa Metru reappear in the city, the Visorak attack and their poisonous venom strips the Toa of their mask powers, forcing them to rely on their spinners as weapons. This 47-piece model builds the Vohtarak, a vicious species of Visorak that fires paralyzing poison from its deadly pincers. The detailed instruction book with three-dimensional color diagrams is invaluable for sorting out the model s pieces and putting the Vohtarak together. Once constructed, the model has a ripcord that, when pulled through the Vohtarak s spinner, launches it up to 50 feet in the air. The ripcord also activates this Visorak s pincers to open and close. Customer Review: fun and durable!
My son first expressed interest in bionicles at 4 years of age. Four years later, he’s still going strong. Since they put out new models yearly, there’s always something new for him to look forward to, even in the low/moderate end models.
The pieces are tough; he’s broken virtually none. Also,the parts are interchangeable, regardless of bionicle size. My son and his friends have a lot of fun taking finished bionicles apart and building new ones out of their imaginations.
Concerning the level of difficulty putting them together: I think 7-11 years is correct. My son and some of his friends could put the models together by themselves by the age of 7; other friends still need a little help at 8 and 9. It just depends on the child!
Overall, these have been a great buy; my son’s enjoyed untold hours of playtime with them over the past 4 years, and I anticipate his enjoying them for sometime to come.

LEGO Bionicle The Mask of Light: Vorahk A bit of advice: if you’re looking to hire someone for a team-oriented job in your office, skip right past Vohrak’s resume’. To begin with, according to LEGO Bionicle legend, he has some rather dubious work experience, having joined together with five other Rahkshi to obey the evil Makuta and attempt to capture the Mask of Light and prevent the coming of the Seventh Toa. Not only that, he’s power hungry. Literally! He wields a special magic staff that drains the power from all that it touches and transfers that power directly to Vohrak himself. If you’re really trying to foster a collaborative and open environment, that’s just not the kind of guy you want on your team. Granted, he would move up the executive ranks quickly but it just isn’t worth it. This Vohrak model features 45 pieces. –Charlie Williams

Coming from a gigantic BIONICLE fan and true collector, let me assure you that this LEGO product is one of the best. According to the storyline, Vohrahk is one of the sons of Makuta, the ultimate villain in the BIONICLE world. His powers are the opposite of his enemy Onua Nuva, giving him the ability to drain and release energy rather than recieving it.

LEGO Bionicle The Mask of Light: Lerahk In the highly complex lore of the LEGO Bionicle series, bad guy Makuta has unleashed a gang of powerful creatures, the Rahkshi, to find the Mask of Light and prevent the coming of the Seventh Toa. The silver and green, vaguely insect-like monster Lehrak, one of six Rahkshi, is noted more for his raw power than his intelligence and wields a special staff that can poison anything it touches. Meanwhile, back on Earth, Lehrak is a 45-piece LEGO set. By following the graphic instruction manual, it’s easy to construct the monster according to specifications. But since it is a LEGO product, some license can be taken to build new hybrid monsters. Lehrak, like all Bionicles, comes in a reusable plastic container, which makes it easier to keep its pieces separate. –Charlie Williams
Customer Review: A blithering of a madman
I have always been a lego fan ever since I saw a LEGO City set form 1995.
BIONICLE is a good valued toy line that is respected and has an AMAZING storyline, whose main villain has elabrote plots that can be very complex to our little minds. This set is a very good old set, since I valued gears over the sockets, yet I see a problem. THERES A RED HIP PEICE!!! That is not found on Lehrahk. Another problem is the price of the new one. The originals are 7.99! Thats a HUGE boost. But if your a BIONICLE fan, and lost it like me, then buy it. BUY IT!
Customer Review: Building Bliss: The perfect toy
I found this to be one of the best out of the six. The green color complements the design, unlike the Brown Rahkshi and the Black one.
Not only that, …, the feet do not come off easily if you build it right. If you give it a push, it slides on perfectly, and doesn’t come off.
The only thing I might say I’m not completely satisfied with are the hips. They sway too much, and can make posing a chore.
But all in all, this would have to be my favorite of the entire BIONICLE series. It is fun to build, and even better if you have a BIONICLE Toa Nuva. And if you open up the Rahkshi’s Back with Spikes, you might just find a surprise…
