LEGO BIONICLE Visorak Boggarak In recent Bionicle lore, the Visorak are spider-like creatures who have taken over the city of Metru Nui and encased it in a shroud of webs. When the Toa Metru reappear in the city, the Visorak attack and their poisonous venom strips the Toa of their mask powers, forcing them to rely on their spinners as weapons. This 47-piece model builds the Boggarak, the fastest type of Visorak, who skims over water looking for victims to inject with venom. The detailed instruction book with three-dimensional color diagrams is invaluable for sorting out the model s pieces and putting the Boggarak together. Once constructed, the model has a ripcord that, when pulled through the Boggarak s spinner, launches it up to 50 feet in the air. The ripcord also activates this Visorak s pincers to open and close. This model requires the skill level of an older child or adult. –Cristina Vaamonde
Customer Review: Some of Bionicle’s best
At first, I wasn’t too keen on any of the Visorak. Thier big body shells don’t seem to work well if you like to mix your Bionicle sets and make your own creations. But, I got one anyway (my wife knew I would!) and immediately changed my tune. First off, the figures are big and cool looking. Lots of detail! The pinching jaw feature works very well, and putting it together made me feel like some kind of smart engineer (which I am not). Some Bionicle figures do not launch their spinners very well. Not the case with Boggarak! You’ll have those spinners soaring through the air in no time! So… don’t use near carpets or furniture or you’ll never find the little spinners again. They fly VERY high and far, so consider that a warning. Otherwise they are alot of fun to build and look at, lots of play value, and good potential for combining with other Bionicle or LEGO Technic sets. Give ‘em wheels and make a Visorak car! Fun!
Customer Review: Please do not overlook this wonderful line of toys!
I have resisted buying these because they seemed so cheap…also the usual question we parents always ask ourselves…”What are they going to do with them?”
My son received his first bionicle from a friend on his ninth birthday…it was cleverly the “bow” on a birthday present. I now regret overlooking this wonderful line of “lego’s” for so long! My boys love these! They have the best time building them and an even better time playing with them.
They are priced reasonably so you can always pick-up one as a treat during trips out “shopping”. If you encourage your children to “save-up” for some of their “wants”, the cost of these is low enough that it doesn’t take them months and months to realize their goal.
Please do not make the same mistake I made and misjudge these toys. You will be denying your child a great experience.
Although the manufacturer suggests ages 7 and up, I do not feel a child younger than 8 or 9 would be able to independently put this toy together. My 7 year old needs some help putting these together, but he loves to try all by himself. That is the point of Lego’s, to construct and play. The primary benefit, in my opinion, is the satisfaction of “doing it” yourself!
A definate A+ for our boys!
