Admittedly I was skeptical of buying a toy Tardis. My kids are 3 and 5, I wasn’t sure if they’d appreciate it enough. BOY was I wrong! Since we gave it to them for the holidays, they have been fighting over it ever since! Every action figure we have has flown the Tardis (usually Spiderman…)
The sounds are not quite like they are on the show, but it’s a TOY! Still great for a toy!
When switched on, there is a light that goes on inside as well as all the windows lighting up. My kids especially like the “turbulence” sound and spinning it on the axis on the bottom.
As I am writing this, the Tardis has just “materialized” next to me on the table.
The quality is surprisingly good! I was impressed at how sturdy it felt. Time will tell how durable it really is, but for now it works!
It does take 3 AAA batteries, which we normally don’t have on hand. So if you are going to buy it, make sure to buy batteries too so your kids can play with it right away 
I can’t gush enough about this toy. A must for any Doctor Who fan!
