Wooden Educational Jig-Saw Puzzle – Liberty Bell
Develop dexterity, problem-solving and reasoning skills, hand/eye coordination, color, shape, size identification, and more with these big, bright, multicolored WOODEN JIG-SAW PUZZLES. The pieces are light in weight, large in size (about 3/4″ thick for easy handling), and interlock loosely so even pre-schoolers can assemble them easily. All are precut, safe, sturdy, and water-resistant. The colors are non-toxic stain-like impregnated finishes. The Liberty Bell is approximately 11-3/4″ high, 9-1/4″ wide, and is Brown in color.
This design came about in 1976 during the Bicentennial period. We were asked to design a puzzle appropriate for elderly stroke victims, to use in rehabilitation of their hand/eye coordination and finger dexterity. And it just seemed logical to do a Liberty Bell, which associated more with their age and era rather than the child in them. Other designs, more associated with young children, tended to belittle them. It became an immediate success in the rehabilitation community. I love it when a perceived child’s toy concept can appeal to the kid in us adults. It’s very gratifying to know as adults we have not lost touch with our youth. It is nice to reminisce about those “good ole days”.
THE PUZZLE-MAN TOYS
Our wooden toys are created for the safety and education of all. We started designing for young children, but soon found that every person in the family was the kid having fun. While having fun, learning skills are very apparent. These wooden toys help develop dexterity, hand/eye coordination, color, shape, size identification, problem-solving and reasoning skills, plus many others.
