Measures 8.5″ x 8.875″. Grades K-3. The Unifix(R) 1-10 stair consists of ten joined vertical grooves in which joined rods of Unifix(R) Cubes are placed to match the values printed at the top of each groove. Cubes placed in the grooves demonstrate each number as a grouping of ones. Ideal for reinforcing and teaching number, ordering and sequencing. The stair is made of durable plastic and measures 8.5″ x 8.875″. Cubes are not included.

We have one of these to go with our unifix cubes in our homeschool classroom and the kids got lots of use out of it. We never did any formal lessons with it but the kids played (and sometimes still do) with it and it seems to do a great job reinforcing numbers and how numbers represent sums that are larger or smaller than others. It can be tough to teach that eight is twice as big as four without a tool like this.

The children in my preschool class really enjoy this material. Different colors for each quantity allow for control of error. This is a nice supplement to our Montessori materials.
