My boys have loved this toy from ages 1-3 years. It has held up well after two children, though the paint chipped on the pegs after only a few uses and the hammer is a little dented.

Customer Review: Great puzzle for 2-3 year olds, not older
I got this puzzle for my son when he was almost 2. He LOVED it and he’s about to turn 3 now and still LOVES it, but it’s just WAY too easy for him. It’s not a challenge anymore as far as a puzzle goes, but he likes to play with the pieces and drive or float them around. The age range says up to 5 years old but I think that’s WAY too old. 3 years MAX, I’d say. Very sturdy and high quality, too.

We have many melissa and doug puzzles, and I love them. I had ordered the vehicles and the farm animal puzzle for a friends child. Not impressed w/ the quality. there was only paint on the top of the puzzle pieces instead of the entire piece and it seemed really cheap. not happy!!!I guess not all melissa and doug puzzles are created the same -beware of the cheaper version. Customer Review: Well made and very sturdy
I debated about this highchair for awhile and decided it had most of what I had been looking for and took the plunge. It is very well made, both my 2 year old and five year old have sat in this chair. No creeking sounds at all, very sturdy. I only wish the tray flipped instead you have to slide it in and out. However it is still removeable and gives the child one more thing to occupy them with while playing with her ‘babies’. Customer Review: A really fabulous buy
This is an excellent tool for building an understanding of color, shapes, and patterns. There is so much room for learning by using this toy! And best of all, it’s fun! And, for us moms out there, keeping up with it is a breeze. It comes with it’s own vinyl storage case, and who can beat magnetic pieces that stick to the board to ease your child’s frustrations if the pieces don’t “stay” where they are put. The pictures included are really cute – I especially enjoy the duck pattern – and my daughter loves putting them together. All-in-all a really wonderful (and cheap!) investment for hours and hours of fun, stimulating activity! Kudos yet again, Melissa & Doug, for a really great product.
Customer Review: Great learning toy but shapes don’t fit together
I love Melissa & Doug toys because they are educational, innovative and lead-free. However, though this toy is great because of the educational aspect and the magnetics, my son and I were disappointed that the shapes don’t align and fit together properly because they have rounded tips. This makes it hard to make the patterns it comes with. If your child would be frustrated because they want it to fit perfectly, then you might consider their other pattern block sets in the wooden box. They have a Beginner one and another one which has more pieces. These have straight lines because they are not magnetic. Here are the links to these two products.

Customer Review: Knock-off , not name brand!
I want to say first that I LOVE Melissa and Doug products. They are very durable and grow with my son developmentally. My problem with this product is that what I received was very clearly NOT a Melissa and Doug puzzle. It very much resembled one until I picked up the puzzle pieces and discovered that they were nothing more than raw wood cut-outs w/ stickers on top! There was not one drop of paint on the pieces! The board was nicely painted and has the Melissa & Doug ‘logo’ on it like the others that I have, so I am not sure at all what went wrong w/ the pieces.

Got this for my little girl at 14 months old. We’ve owned it for 2+ months now and she still plays with it EVERYDAY! At the beginning, she only takes the pieces out and walks around with them. Now she’s taking them out and could recognize which animal goes where and attempts to fit it back into their spots. The edges are very smooth and the pieces are very easy to grab for little hands. Brightly colored is surely a plus ( the picture represented here is pretty accurate in color of item that you will receive).

Customer Review: Great way to occupy!
I am very amazed that my 3 year old daughter can do these puzzles. We started with the 48 piece barn floor puzzle and the third time we worked on it, she did it herself. So I pulled out these puzzles and after showing her the edge pieces to start with, she mastered them alone. She did not get frustrated even though there is no picture to use as a reference. These puzzles are such a great price too! Unbeatable value in a toy!

My daugher really started to show interest in this toy around 13 months, but had trouble grasping the shapes. The bug shapes are thick wooden pieces that fit into a duplicate painted image. They don’t sit deep into the board making it a little more challenging – good for the 14-18 month group. Beautiful vibrant colors.
