Barbie Princess Castle Playset Customer Review: Waste of Money
Like I said this is a waste of money, I bought it for my four year old and within a half hour of putting it together, it fell apart. The bed slides off, a full size Barbie doll doesn’t really fit in, the bedroom ledge falls off all the time. Like I said, definitely not worth any price.
Customer Review: Great Buy at $21 & free shipping
First, I want to thank Amazon for shipping this to APOs, and so quickly (before Christmas-yeah!) My daughter is 6 and LOVES Barbie and princesses… Not only was this in our price range, but it was a rarity that it actually shipped overseas to our army post.
Pros: Great decoration for princess room, it covers some basics if you don’t have anything Barbie (bed, clock, perfume bottles, table and chairs, plates, teapot…). The second floor flips out of the way to make it easier to play on the ground. It gives the FEELING of princess. It is satisfying for awhile.
Cons: Extremely flimsy second floor. I see it start to bow everytime she places a doll in the bed. There is not enough play area there, and it is not sturdy enough for some real play. So, child must be careful. So, we’ll see how long THAT lasts-not good if child is playing with another. I could also tell there wasn’t enough room for barbies to eat on ground floor. I saw her get very frustrated over dolls, plates, chairs constantly falling over. This is fairly big, and NOT portable. There is no detail on back,so play is very one-sided. It sits against my daughter’s bedroom wall.
However, from a close study of the photos, I knew this beforehand, and was willing to pay $21 for the PROS. If living in the states, I would look into all-wood barbie-sized dollhouse. The kidcraft ones on this site are SO CUTE, and were even on sale around the time I was looking… Alas, if Amazon would ship these items to military bases, they would “make a killing” The cost in euros is “out of the question” for MANY of us…
In short-If you want a touch of princess at a great price,keep castle in wish list, pray and wait for the price to go back down…Do not pay over $30 for this item.
